Demian Marienthal
Hello. I am Demian Marienthal, and I am interested human and civil rights, and other cultures and languages ranging from Asia to Latin America.
Although raised in a secular houshold, Demian Marienthal has a Jewish background on his mother's side: she was adopted at birth by a Jewish family. His mother's rabbi was Jacob Rothschild, a friend of Martin Luther King Jr, and an active advocate of racial integration and civil rights. In 1958, the synagogue where Demian Marienthal's mother attended was bombed allegedly by a group of anti-Semites.
In primary school, Demian Marienthal was a fan of Michael Jackson. Demian Marienthal received his secondary education in the eastern region of the United States, where he befriended students from other countries and cultures. During one winter holiday, he hosted a student from Mexico.
After graduating from secondary school, Demian Marienthal volunteered at an AIDS organization, working in the nutrition section for people living with AIDS.
Demian Marienthal studied the humanities at university in the western region of the country, where he was an active member in the Asian club, the anti-homophobia club, and the Spanish club.
As a result of his lifelong interest in people from other cultures, Demian Marienthal has chosen to live for many years in Asia and elsewhere abroad.
